Salty and Sweet Ruffles Marshmallow Treats Recipe
I adore it when my loved ones and dear friends come to me with recipe ideas, especially when they are willing to share the kitchen with me to make them.
I must admit I thought the dear friend who introduced me to Salty and Sweet Ruffles Marshmallow Treats had lost her mind. Don't get me wrong, I love Rice Krispie Treats, but making them with potato chips had never even crossed my mind.
She told me the sweet and salty combination would be terrific. Trusting the woman who LOVES ruffles potato chips seemed like a good idea!
The combination of salty and sweet was, well, perfect. I kept returning for another piece because the flavor was unexpected.
I am interested in making a few other adaptions of this recipe. Keep an eye out for future exciting marshmallow treats.
Have you made any fun gooey marshmallow treats? I would love to hear about them!ย We made crunch berry marshmallow treats that were a lot of fun. I keep adapting our Rice Krispies treats to new flavors.ย

I can't believe I came across this. In August I got together with friends that are all BIG fans of marshmallow anything. Bringing the infamous krispie treats is just traditional. There have been the variations of course. Mini chips, peanut butter chips, pastel colored marshmallows, M&M's, nuts (salted and unsalted) toasted coconut and chocolate covered peanuts and raisins. So I decided to try pretzles. I made them just like you did with the chips, only I used a rolling pin on a bag of pretzles. They started out to be a joke , but turned out to be the first dessert to be eaten completely. So made them again for a family gathering and this time I used mini chips too. Who doesn't love chocolate covered pretzels? They too were the first dessert to go and they were gone before dinner. When they found out what they were everyone wanted to taste them and they didn't stop till they were gone. Sometimes I melt chocolate and just cover the top like a frosting, or dip half, or drizzle with caramel. Now I will bring your potato chip treats, because we are all chip lovers and they sound awesome. What's not to love?

These were good, but I had to add one more T of butter, and a total of 6 cups of marshmallows for 6 cups of Ruffles. Without adding the extra, there wasn't enough marshmallow to mix with the chips. It was 90 degrees on the day I made these, so my husband put the pan in the sunroom while I melted more marshmallows. They turned out fine with the extra marshmallow.
Lori
My husband loves kettle chips. Have you tried other types?
Michelle
Ok I made these tonight and omg! Really good! The only thing I would do differently next time is adding chocolate chips or a chocolate drizzle. Yum!
