I am madly deeply in love with this Crock Pot Peach Cobbler! It is so easy to make, tastes amazing, and is the perfect end of summer treat. Who am I kidding it is the perfect anytime I can make it and enjoy it treat.
Crock Pot Peach Cobbler
I love using the crockpot to make desserts and well anything I possibly can. The crock pot saves me from turning on the oven and overheating the house, saves me time, energy, and let's be honest effort.
There really is not a lot of effort that goes into dropping a few ingredients into the crockpot, not that I tell my husband that when he was raving about how great this Crock Pot Peach Cobbler is. I smile and tell him I am so happy he enjoys the food I work so hard for in the kitchen ๐
Recently I have had a lot of negative comments about using the Crock Pot instead of the stove and this honestly amazes me. I never thought I would hear that it is not considered real cooking or that I am "cheating" by using the crockpot.
WOW is all I can say. I love my crockpot and love the time, energy, and money it saves me. I love that in August when it is crazy hot in Spokane I can use my crockpot instead of heating up the house with the oven.
I love that I can start dinner in the morning and come back in the evening and dinner is done leaving me more time with my family. ย I hope you enjoy using the crockpot as much as I do!
Can you believe we first shared this recipe back in September 2013!!! We have been making this recipe for over 7 years.
This homemade peach cobbler is so dang easy to make and honestly, it tastes like you spent a long time making it. The slow cooker does all the cooking for this peach cobbler recipe.
Ingredients
- Large fresh peaches, peeled and sliced or frozen peaches depending on what you have.
- White cake mix
- Butter
You can sprinkle cinnamon over the top if you want.
We love to serve warm with a side of vanilla ice cream. Hello Yum!
You can make this with canned peaches which is great for winter when you want a peach dessert but fresh peaches are not in season.
If you want to change it up you can use a yellow cake mix or spice cake mix.

I read your cherry dump cake recipe/comments. Then I read the peach cobbler recipe. I think the cherry cake would be less mushy if the butter was cut in like the peach and the pot should be covered with paper towel like the cobbler. The canned cherries may also have too much syrup, take some of it out.
Barbara
Sounds delicious.....I am lazy though, can I use canned peaches? How many cards do you think....or will it be to mushy?
Tammilee
Hi Barbara, You can def used canned peaches for this recipe. The number of cans depends on how thick you want the peaches to be.
Cami
Have you tried this with yellow cake mix? Just curious! Can't wait to make this! And ps.....I LOVE my crock pot!!
Kelly
I love my crockpot! My oven is currently out so I have been using it alot.. I am going to try this today.. But I am not quite sure what you mean about the paper towel across the top.. Do you spread it across the top under the lid?
Tammilee
Hi,
Yes, if you spread it across the top under the lid it captures the liquid so your cobbler isn't mushy
Jamie
Yum this looks so easy and good. I LOVE using the crock pot, especially this time of year when it's so hot. I never think of using it for desserts! Using my crock pot keeps my kitchen cool, and gives me more time to spend with my kids. How can that be bad? Thanks for the recipe! :o)

About how many servings does this yeild?
Norman Morgan
This is very similar to what we did when I was a Scout leader. We called it Dump Cake. You use an outdoor type cast iron Dutch oven, the kind with three feet under it and a turned up lip on the lid. Then dump a large can of peaches in, dump a box of yellow cake mix over it, and cut up a stick of butter over that. Set I in the coals of your fire (no flames, just hot coals), put the lid on and scoop some coals onto the lid so you get heat from top and bottom. The kids always loved it.
Colleen Ruk
do you think this recipe would work with apples instead of peaches?
Tammilee
Colleen, Apples work great in the crock pot.
Nannypie
I can't understand anyone begrudging the convenience of the crock pot. These have to be folks who think time bent over the stove equates to tasting good or being healthy. Too bad for them! This recipe sounds great. One question...is the paper toel actually on top of the unit or inside under the lid? Thanks for sharing.
Tammilee
Hi,
The paper towel is right on the top held up by the lid not touching the food. It is there to catch the moisture from the lid and make sure your cobbler does not get soggy.

Can you use peaches in a glass jar? I saw them at Trader Joes ๐
Tammilee
Hi Mindy, I think canned peaches would be fine for this.
Rea
Tammilee, don't let those nay-sayers get you down. They are just ***hats that have no idea what they're talking about. Apparently people forgot that "Stew" Is an amazing Crock-Pot dish that everyone can enjoy. Currently I am actually making your "Cajun Boiled Peanuts". I party grew up in Louisiana and I am now in Tennessee, I haven't found any good boiled peanuts here and it was driving me mad.
As another note, I think that one thing you should try is Pralines, (You can't find those here either, people are so strange!) So I think if your hubby is Southern, he'd love them- and so would you!
Tammilee
Hi Rea,
I will have to try pralines. I know John would love them. I hope you enjoy the Cajun Boiled Peanuts.
Judy
can frozen peaches be used and if so should they be thawed first. This sounds so good and easy
Tammilee
Hi, I used thawed frozen peaches and it turned out great.

I don't know if you got my e-mail or not, but I said I love crock-pots, too! They are a wonderful thing for any season. I use mine a lot, so nice to have meals ready when you want to eat and not running all over the kitchen preparing stuff. I have several crock-pots of different sizes and love them all. Only have one digital one and really do like it a lot. Switches over to keep warm all by itself! So cool!!!

I'm with you, I love crock pots!!! I use them all the time to. I love the convenience and the food that comes out of them is so tender and delicious. I really want to try this peach cobbler, sounds so very good! I like to keep the heat out of the kitchen, too and it is not cheating. It is wonderful to have your meal ready when it is time to eat, no rushing around trying to get everything done at the same time! I have several sizes of crock pots and wouldn't trade them for anything! Bring on more recipes for this helpful, wonderful appliance!!
