Do you ever find yourself on a CrockPot comfort food kick? Moving toward fall makes me want to pull out my slow cooker and make comfort foods and soups! Today's CrockPot Goulash Recipe is the perfect family dinner! Plus, the leftovers are fantastic for lunch and freezer meal prep!
Crockpot Goulash Recipe
Make sure to buy quality egg noodles! I tried generic egg noodles in a recipe recently and ended up with a bowl of mush. I am still determining what happened, but I will be sticking to the more expensive egg noodles from now on. The 25 cents I saved was not worth the trip back to the store for another package of noodles.
Are you ready for fall and comfort foods, or are you holding onto summer with all your might?
I am in the middle right now! I am ready for pumpkin and apple everything, but I also love the warm summer nights sitting outside on the deck. I just keep hoping that we don't see snow for months! I am not ready for that at all.
Bring on sweaters, cute boots, and hot chai teas!
I hope you love this easy beef crockpot goulash recipe! I love that you can make an amazing meal in the slow cooker and save so much time and energy! With the time you save you might be able to put your feet up and soak in the warm summer evenings while they last.

Preparation and Storage
Make Ahead + Storage:ย
You can pre-sear the meat and prepare the tomato sauce up to three days beforehand, then cook the pasta and combine everything the day of.
We also like to prep veggies we often use, such as onions and garlic, a few times a month and store them in baggies labeled with dates to have these ingredients available whenever we cook. You can also use jarred minced garlic if you donโt want to prep this ingredient.
Refrigerate the assembled and unassembled portions in an airtight container to keep them fresh. Cooked CrockPot Goulash leftovers will last four to five days in the fridge.
Freezing/How to Freeze: Transfer freezer-bound leftovers to an airtight, freezer-safe container and enjoy them within three months. You can freeze the tomato sauce separately if you want to add it to your dish when itโs time to eat.
How to Reheat: Reheat leftovers using your microwave, stovetop, or CrockPot, depending on how many portions you need to prepare. Thaw frozen servings overnight in the fridge to ensure they reheat evenly.

Recipe Variations
Substitutions: Any beef-like meat cut into chunks works well with this recipe! Weโve even seen versions using lamb or venison stew meat if you can access these ingredients. The slow cooker makes cooking these tougher meats to pull-apart perfection effortless!
You can also use elbow macaroni noodles if you prefer them.
Vegetarian + Vegan Option: Use plant-based substitutes for the meat, beef stock, and butter to make this recipe vegetarian and vegan-friendly.
Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free flour and egg noodles to make this Slow Cooker Goulash gluten-free.
Smaller Serving Size + Larger Group/More Servings: The written recipe makes eight servings. Scale it up or down to your desired yield, keeping in mind that you may need to work in batches if you scale up.
Make it Spicy: Chili or cayenne powder are excellent additions for spicy CrockPot Goulash.
Sugar-Free: This recipe contains 4 grams of sugar per serving. Opt for sugar-free tomato paste and beef broth to make it sugar-free.
