So much to see and do at Walt Disney Animal Kingdom Park! During the Zootopia Press Event, we had the opportunity to spend the day exploring the Animal Kingdom. Walt Disney Animal Kingdom Park Tips, Todos, Pictures and more! Rides, Starbucks in the Animal Kingdom, and more at Walt Disney World Orlando Florida
Walt Disney Animal Kingdom Park Tips
One of the cool things we learned is the animators and movie team for Zootopia visited Animal Kingdom to do a lot of their research. They watched the animals, went on the safari ride and tried to get as much information as they could from the zoologist and vets on staff.
Today I am excited to share my favorite Disney Animal Kingdom Pictures! I had a hard time picking which pictures to share since I took so many. It is really easy to just wander through the park and take pictures. You may see tigers, monkeys and so much more!
Here are some of the top Disney World Animal Kingdom Attractions!
Kilimanjaro Safari
The Kilimanjaro Safari was the highlight of my trip to Walt Disney Animal Kingdom Park! You feel like you are in Africa on safari. The guide shares information on the animals you are seeing while you have the chance to photograph zebra, giraffes and so much more up close and personal!
We did hear that it is great to go early in the morning before the heat of the day hits! The animals may be more active and not hiding from the sun during the morning.
The lion never would look at me! Make sure and give yourself enough time that you can take the safari ride a few times to get the best look at the animals.
I highly suggest riding the Kilimanjaro Safari ride multiple times. A lot of the animals are wandering on their own on the savannah. You never know which side of the safari vehicle they will be on. Plus the animals are different on the right versus the left side of the safari vehicle. You never know what you are going to see.
Try taking the ride early in your day so you have time to go back multiple times. As the weather heats up the animals may be more apt to hide in the shade and not be as visible.
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail
The Pangani Forest Exploration Trail gives you the opportunity to observe gorillas, This self-guided trail is fantastic and has many shady spots to escape the Florida sun.
If you don't see the gorillas at first make sure and look down and around the exhibit. This big guy was tucked under a rock near the bottom of the exhibit. We would have completely missed him if our guide didn't point him out.
In Disney Animal Kingdom Asia you can take a ride on Expedition Everest! This thrilling roller coaster takes you through the icy peaks of the Himalayas. This fast-paced roller coaster is a great ride to use your fast passes on!
Tree of Life
I love the Tree of Life in the Animal Kingdom. Every time I visit the park I take a ton of photos of the Tree of Life. I am pretty sure each time I see a new animal or part of the tree.
Housed inside the tree is It's Tough to be a Bug interactive video experience. This 4-d movie includes 3-d images, lights, sounds, and smells. Pre-warning this may be a bit scary for young ones.
Many of my friends mentioned that their little ones did not enjoy the movie because it is pretty dark and there are well bugs.
There are over 300 intricate carvings of animals in the Tree of Life! The tree is 145 feet tall and 50 feet wide at the base.
This is a great spot to designate as a meetup spot since it is hard to miss in the park.
Festival of the Lion King show
Looking to escape the heat and rest your feet for a few a bit? Trust me I get it! The Festival of the Lion King show is the perfect break for the entire family.
The entire family can sit back and rest their feet while singing along with the music you love from the Lion King. This show is filled with acrobatic monkeys, singing, dancing and so much more.
The show lasts 30 minutes and is the perfect break from the heat! The show plays every hour from 10 am to 6 pm. Make sure and give yourself plenty of time if there is a line or wait to get into the show.
Starbucks in the Animal Kingdom
Some people may not call this an attraction but for me, the fact that there is a Starbucks in the Animal Kingdom is amazing/wonderful/yes please! I will fully admit to stopping into this Starbucks a couple of times during our visit and being so happy it was in the park.
You can pick up a special Animal Kingdom Starbucks Mug during your visit. They have a full menu of Starbucks drinks plus snacks and treats.
Conservation Station
While visiting the Conservation Station you can view the onsite vets working in an animal treatment room. You can see the hands-on care provided for the animals.
The Conservation Station also has Amphibian, Reptile, and Invertebrate Windows, view the nutrition center, Songs of the Rainforest 3-d journey into the rainforest, and more!

Animal Kingdom was probably my favorite park and I LOVED the safari! It looks like you had an amazing time at an amazing event! I totally can't wait to take the boys to see this movie since the Animal Kingdom is fresh in their brains!

I have always wanted to go here. I think this would be an amazing experience. I know my girls would have a ton of fun going there too. Hopefully someday we'll be able to go.

Animal Kingdom is my favorite Disney park. There is so much to do there! The food is amazing, so are the drinks. Most people say AK is a half day park, but for our family is a two day park.
Tammilee
I am always surprised when people say the park is a half day park. I could easily ride the safari ride over and over again all day.
Robin (Masshole Mommy)
We got to Disney often and usually skip this park. We spend more time at Epcot than anywhere.
