During our last cruise on the Carnival Sunshine, we decided to book a Carnival Cloud 9 Spa Room. Today I am excited to share our Carnival Cloud 9 Spa Room tour and review.
This was our first time in a spa-level room and I was really interested to see what the room would be like and if the upgrade would be worth it. We booked our cruise last minute so the room was one of 2 that were available on the ship. It was the perfect opportunity to check out a spa room and see what it was all about.
Carnival Cloud 9 Spa Balcony Room
The first thing we noticed when we entered the room is the room is decorated differently. It has a bit more of a tropical vibe than normal Carnival balcony rooms. Our room was Carnival Sunshine Room 10106.
Located on the 10th floor right around the corner from the Cloud 9 Spa. We had the bed put together to form 1 large bed. The room also has a couch and a bed that can be lowered from the ceiling. Since it was just the two of us we did not have the bed brought down. A room attendant is needed to lower the bed and get it set up.
The bathroom comes with Elemis spa products including Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. We did not have these refilled during the cruise so I am not sure if it is a one time set up or if you can ask for additional products.
One of the main things we found different with this room is the balcony door slid open instead of the doors that only open in and out. This made it quite easy to walk out on the deck. We did leave it open at times to let a cool breeze into the room. It wasn’t very hot during our cruise so we didn’t worry that we were overtaxing the A/C unit.
The balcony had two chairs on it and provided a great place to watch the world go by.
Carnival Cloud 9 Spa Room Perks
One of the benefits of having a Cloud 9 Spa room is you get a discount on signature spa treatments. Your first treatment is 20% off, the 2nd one 30% off, and then the 4th one 40% off. If you plan on booking multiple spa treatments during your cruise this could add up to great savings.
Make sure you book your appointments early in your cruise for your entire cruise. Towards the end of the cruise or on sea days it can get difficult to get spa appointments.
The other benefit is daily access to the Thermal Suites. Some of the ships also have Thalassotherapy Pools and spa whirlpools but the Carnival Sunshine sadly did not.
You can also use the Tepidarium Dry Heat Chamber which offers a great view over the water. The heated stone beds are amazing! I could have spent hours curled up on these chairs just watching the world go by. I have to admit we did a few times. It was the perfect way to end the day just relaxing in the spa.
You can also visit the Oriental Steam Bath steam chamber which is also called the Caldarium. The room has high humidity and a temp between 104 to 112 degrees.
The Aromatic Grotto or steam chamber was one of our favorite places to visit. You can smell the herbal steam as you approach the chamber. It felt so good to relax with the aromas of cinnamon, orange, or apple.
Cloud 9 Spa rooms are available on the Carnival Breeze, Carnival Dream, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Magic, Carnival Splendor, Carnival Sunshine, and Carnival Vista.
