Loews Sapphire Falls Resort is a tropical oasis in the hustle and bustle of Universal Orlando Resorts. You can literally whisk away in a water taxi and be in another world a few minutes from a theme park. The resort features Caribbean luxury along with updated room amenities to make your stay amazing.
I had the chance to check out the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort during my 1st trip as a member of the 2018 Universal Blog Squad. I am so thankful to Universal Orlando Resort for inviting me to be a member of the group and sponsoring my trip.
Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando Resort
When you walk into the lobby of the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort you are greeted by this amazing chandelier that I couldn't stop looking at and taking pics of. I literally took a pic of this chandelier every time I walked through the main lobby. It is so unusual and breathtaking that I just loved it.
Speaking of the lobby here is my first tip for traveling to the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort! If you need a snack or a break from the heat head to the lobby and pick up some snacks/lunch at New Dutch Trading Company located right off the lobby. They have a variety of ice cream, sandwiches, and snacks available.
In the main lobby, there are fantastic tables that have USB plug-ins and regular plugins so you can charge your phone while taking a break and resting your feet! Plus depending on the time of year you are visiting sitting in the air conditioning is pretty close to heavenly. I love when a resort understands the needs of their guests and makes life easier.
Strong Water Tavern is also located off the main lobby and offers a huge choice of rum for tasting. This rum bar has rum from all around the world and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the rum. We did a rum tasting and it was so interesting to learn about how the rum was different based on where it was produced.
Standard 2 Queen Room
I was really impressed with our Standard 2 Queen Room at Loews Sapphire Falls. My favorite part of the room was the shower with the built-in bench. After walking 20K steps in the park it was so nice being able to sit on the bench and soak in the hot water.
I also love that there are USB plug-ins right next to the bed for charging your phone. I am always trying to keep my phone charged since I seem to be on it all the time.
The room was decorated with a great tropical decor. There is a Keurig in the room along with a selection of 4 K-cups (french roast, decaf, and tea). The room also has a dresser, side chair, and a small desk.
Restaurants at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando Resort
Amatista Cookhouse
Located on the 1st floor of the resort Amatista Cookhouse offers a great breakfast buffet that includes a wide variety of offerings. I really enjoyed the omelette station, pastry bar and fresh fruit that were available. The breakfast buffet was $24.99 for an adult during our stay. While this is not a cheap option for breakfast you will definitely not leave hungry.
They also have a breakfast menu you can order from if you do not wish to enjoy the buffet.
The dinner menu had a great variety of foods that are Caribbean inspired. I had the Margherita flatbread and it was delicious.
New at Loews Sapphire Falls starting in February 2018 is the Despicable Me Character Breakfast!!!! This new character breakfast is available every Saturday morning. You can enjoy breakfast and a laugh as you take in the antics of the wild and crazy Minions! Despicable Me characters including Gru, Margo, Edith, Agnes and the Minions. I love that you get one free digital download photo when they stop by to wave hello and pose for pictures. Breakfast is a buffet so everyone can choose what they love while enjoying time with their favorite Despicable Me Characters!
