Sail and Snorkel Fiesta – Cabo San Lucas Shore excursion is a great opportunity to go snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas. Check out the tropical fish and possibly see a sea lion while you are snorkeling in Cabo!
There is nothing quite like jumping in the water and being surrounded by tropical fish! You can get swept away in the wonder of the sea life and tropical views. The Sail and Snorkel Fiesta Excursion in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico gives you the chance to not only jump in the water, but also get to see the world-famous Los Arcos arch.
Sail and Snorkel Fiesta Cabo San Lucas Shore Excursion
The Sail and Snorkel Fiesta is a 2-hour adventure that gives you the rest of the day to enjoy wandering around Cabo! It is the perfect opportunity to spend time in the water but also has time to get in some great shopping, tropical drink sampling and more in the marina district.
The tour leaves from the tender dock. You walk a few minutes to the snorkel boat and are greeted by the friendly staff. As you board the boat you are given a life jacket, mask, snorkel, and your fins. Be prepared because you are not going to be going far from town to hop in the water.
It is literally a few minutes on the boat and you are to the rocks. When the boat anchors in the bay you can see where you will be snorkeling not far from the rocks. Once the ship anchors you will be given a safety briefing and information on the area you are snorkeling in.
This is the part that I would normally tell you how amazing the fish were and what to expect when you get in the water except…. I never made it in the water.
I must admit I didn’t leave the boat because it was cold! Seriously cold and I just didn’t feel like freezing parts of my body off. We were in Cabo in February on the Carnival Splendor and I watched other guests jump in the water and literally gasp. The water was COLD! Plus, it was overcast and windy and I just couldn’t do it. I was super bummed out to not get in the water but felt like I would be chilled for hours.
The nice thing is I still had an amazing time! The boat serves unlimited margaritas and other tropical drinks once you are done in the water. Since we didn’t get in the water they served them to us while we watched everyone else swim.
The people that went in the water said that the fish were great. You should know that the guides do bring bread with them to bring the fish in closer.
There were also sea lions in the water near the snorkelers. No one had issues with them, but I want you to know you may turn around and see a sea lion near you.
Once the snorkelers were back on board after about 45 minutes in the water we headed to see the world-famous Los Arcos arch. The ship did a slow turn so everyone on board had time to get photos and see the sea lions.
I wish I would have brought my DLSR on board with me to get photos. The boat is a two-story catamaran with a lot of room. But make sure you watch for when there are waves. We had water come up on deck and had to quickly grab our gear bags.
Once everyone has their photos the boat makes a slow crawl back towards the marina. The boat crew gets as many people as are willing up and dancing on deck and having a great time. Be prepared for the Macarena, YMCA, and all the other classic dance songs you love and might hate at the same time.
The two hours flew by for this excursion and were really relaxing. It was the perfect opportunity to get out on the water and still have time to explore Cabo San Lucas.
I would suggest bringing extra clothes and a towel with you if you plan to explore the town of Cabo San Lucas. The boat has small bathrooms available to change or you can change in town. Also, check out the Cabo Whale Watching Excursion! It is Amazing!!!
