Birds of Costa Rica

I have had the pleasure of visiting Costa Rica a couple of times and each time I have fallen more and more in love with the country. I thought it would be fun to share my favorite photos of Birds of Costa Rica. I will keep adding to this post each time I have the opportunity to visit and explore more of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is located in Central America and offers a huge variety of landscapes to explore to see birds. From the Cloud Forest to the ocean beaches there are so many places to visit for bird watching. A few of our favorites have been the Tarcoles River on a boat tour, a mangrove tour, Manuel Antonio National Park, and the Los Angeles Cloud Forest. Each of these places offered the chance to see new birds.

A few of the birds I still dream of seeing include a toucan, resplendent quetzal, Blue-crowned Motmot, Collared Aracari, Scarlet Macaws, and so many other birds of Costa Rica! Costa Rica truly is a birder's paradise! I feel like just driving down the street you can see birds you have always wanted to see. Our driver on my last trip saw a toucan fly over but I was in the back of the van and couldn't see it.

John and I are talking about heading back to Costa Rica soon to see more birds and wildlife. John didn't get to go with me when I visited Manuel Antonio National Park and he really wants to see it. Plus with him writing about National Parks on Park Ranger John it feels a bit wrong that he hasn't been there.
