How to Make Copycat Arby's Sauce
I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.
It is effortless to make this Arby's Sauce at home. All you need is a few minutes of prep and then 5 minutes for the sauce to simmer on the stovetop.
You can have this sweet and tangy BBQ sauce ready in less than 20 minutes once it cools down.
All you have to do is combine all ingredients in a small saucepan, stirring frequently, then remove from heat and let cool. That is it!
Preparation and Storage
Make Ahead: This Arby's Sauce tastes best after simmering on the stovetop. If you don't have time for the stovetop, mix the ingredients and let them sit in the refrigerator until chilled. The flavor may not meld together as nicely as the stovetop version, but it still tastes good.
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoy them within five days.
Freezing/How to Freeze: There are mixed opinions regarding whether you can freeze this Arbyโs Sauce. It seems safe to freeze leftovers for up to three months, but the flavor may change once thawed.
How to Reheat: Always serve this sauce cold, letting frozen portions thaw overnight in the fridge before serving and stirring as needed if you see any separation.
Recipe Variations
Substitutions: You can use light or dark brown sugar in this recipe, depending on what you have in your pantry. The only difference between the two types is how much molasses they contain.
Vegetarian + Vegan Option: Vegetarians and vegans should replace the Worcestershire sauce with a suitable alternative. Traditional Worcestershire sauce contains anchovies.
Gluten-Free: Gluten-free eaters should look for a gluten-free Worcestershire sauce. This ingredient may contain barley malt vinegar, which is unsafe for a gluten-free diet.
Smaller Serving Size + Larger Group/More Servings: The written recipe makes six servings of Arbyโs Sauce. Scale it up or down to your desired yield.
Make It Spicy: Add more hot sauce if you want a spicier sauce. A red hot sauce would work best with the flavors and complement the Tabasco.
Sugar-Free: The written recipe contains 9 grams of sugar per serving. Use a sugar-free ketchup to make it sugar-free.
