How to make Taco Pickles with only two ingredients! These easy TikTok Taco Pickles are the perfect savory snack that takes minutes to prepare.
Taco Pickles
It took me a whole month to photograph these Taco Pickles because my husband loves them. Whenever I went to grab the jar to take photos, I found it half empty.
I made three jars at once and hid the pickle jar I planned to photograph in the back of the refrigerator.
My husband fell madly deeply in love with these the first time I made them and now asks for them almost weekly.
We now rotate between Ranch Pickles and these taco-inspired pickles. I like to throw in a jar of Kool-Aid Pickles just to shake things up and surprise my husband.
If you know any pickle lovers, these would be fantastic DIY holiday gifts or surprises.
We toss them on salads, sandwiches, or on their own. We have yet to try them in tacos, but they taste fantastic, diced into a quesadilla.
They have a great bite of flavor and kick of spice, depending on the taco seasoning you use.
With a small amount of work, you can have a snack of legendary proportions! Everyone who has tried these pickles has given us a resounding YES and said they love them.
Who would have thought viral pickle flavors would become a thing? I love it when a TikTok Video becomes a new recipe we love.
While I have never filmed a reaction video, I love watching professional chefs comment on regular home cooks making epic meals.
I love that it shows that anyone can make amazing meals and snacks without a lot of work.
This easy recipe takes minutes to prepare and tastes amazing! It's the perfect mix of savory flavors in an easy-to-make snack.
I have sometimes seen these quick and easy TikTok pickles called Tickles, which makes me giggle.

Ingredients
Here is a quick overview of the simple ingredients for making epic Taco Pickles! The printable recipe card at the bottom of the post includes specific measurements and step-by-step instructions.
- Dill Pickles
- Packet of Taco Seasoning
Equipment Needed
You don't need any equipment to make this viral recipe! All you need is taco seasoning and a jar of pickles.
How to make Taco Pickles
I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.
Gather the ingredients. Pour some pickle juice from the jar so the taco seasoning fits.
Pour taco seasoning into the jar of pickles, making sure the liquid doesn't overflow. The seasoning will settle into the jar after a minute or so. If not, you can stir it gently.
Seal the pickle jar and give it a big shake to incorporate all the seasonings and the pickle juice!
Let taco pickles sit in the fridge for at least 24 hours to absorb all of the epic taco seasoning flavor.
Preparation and Storage
Make Ahead: This is a make-ahead recipe, as the Taco Pickles will not be ready to eat until they have been in the fridge for at least 24 hours.
Storage: Always refrigerate your Taco Pickles in the same airtight jar for freshness and quality when you’re not enjoying them. The longer they sit in the fridge, the more flavor they will have.
Freezing/How to Freeze:
We don’t recommend freezing these pickles. They are naturally very wet from the brine and will release moisture if frozen and thawed, resulting in a soggy, diluted mess.
Luckily, these pickles disappear in our home almost as soon as they appear in the fridge. LOL
Recipe Variations
Substitutions:
We use the original Taco Seasoning Mix, but you can easily use Taco Bell Taco Seasoning, cheesy taco seasoning, gluten-free taco seasoning, or hot and spicy taco seasoning for a zestier flavor. You can also use homemade taco seasoning.
We use kosher dill pickle spears for this recipe. It can also be made with pickle chips. Whole dill pickles may not absorb the flavor through the pickle skin, so we tend not to use them.
Vegetarian + Vegan Option: This recipe should be 100 percent vegetarian and vegan, as neither of the two ingredients typically contains anything derived from animals. Vegans should double-check the ingredient list on the taco seasoning, as this can vary across brands.
Gluten-Free: Gluten-free eaters should choose dill pickles and taco seasoning with gluten-free labels to ensure their Taco Pickles are safe for a gluten-free diet.
Gluten-free taco seasoning is available from McCormick, Siete, and several other brands.
Alcohol-Free Option: This recipe is alcohol-free. We have yet to try this preparation, but we have heard about these Spicy Tequila-Spiked Pickles if you want to add some boozy Mexican flair to your Taco Pickles.
Smaller Serving Size + Larger Group/More Servings: The written recipe uses 1 ounce of taco seasoning to flavor a 24-ounce jar of dill pickle spears. You can scale it up or down to your desired yield and taste.
Make It Spicy: Turn these Taco Pickles into Spicy Taco Pickles with your favorite spicy taco seasoning blend.
Sugar-Free: The sugar content of this recipe depends on the pickles and taco seasoning you use, so check the nutrition label if this is a dietary concern for you.
Tips for the Best Taco Pickles
- We suggest shaking the jar before enjoying the pickles each time to help distribute the seasoning well.
