We recently spent a week on the Carnival Ecstasy Cruise Ship. I wasn't sure what to expect from Carnival Cruise Lines's oldest ship.
I wondered if it would feel old. Would the ship be outdated? Would I still get an amazing cruise vacation on an older ship?
All of my worries were for nothing. Even though the Carnival Ecstasy is the oldest cruise ship in the Carnival fleet it is still pretty dang amazing.
The pool was an incredibly popular spot during our Caribbean cruise.
I hate to say it but we never managed to take a dip in the pool. We were too busy relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere of the Carnival Ecstasy. And I must confess we did take a few naps during our trip that were just heavenly.
I wondered if the room would be a bit louder than other cruise ship rooms since the ship is older. I honestly did not hear a thing from our room. We took naps during the day and were never woken up by people walking by or loud noises in the hallway.
The room was incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed. One thing that we thankfully prepared for is the Carnival Ecstasy rooms only have 1 outlet. Make sure and pack a power bar if you plan on charging multiple devices.
The Carnival Ecstasy has a bit of an 80's/90's vibe from its last update. I actually really liked the old school vibe on the ship.
The lettering, the decor everything was a bit old school but still a lot of fun.
One of our favorite spots on the ship was the Neon Bar. It is so much fun in a funky cool sort of way.
Tons of amazing neon lights decorate this bar. Pretty much the entire wall and ceiling are covered in neon lights.
There is a really cool display case on the Carnival Ecstasy showing some of the history of the ship.
I thought it was a lot of fun that Kathie Lee Gifford is the godmother of the ship. Totally perfect for the year that the ship was christened.
There are so many places to explore on the Carnival Ecstasy. The window seats are perfect for watching the day go by.
John loved the Rolls Royce in the hall near the bars. It is classic and beautiful.
Make sure and check out the buffet and desserts when you take a cruise on the Carnival Ecstasy. The desserts were absolutely gorgeous.
I wish there were private cooking lessons on board so I could learn how to master some of the skills their chefs and bakers have.
We truly enjoyed our week on the Carnival Ecstasy Cruise Ship!

That dessert is huge, I like all of the details put in it. It seem like many of the items on that ship have great detail, it is amazing that they can recreate all that on a vessel.

Emily, What makes you nervous about going on a cruise? I am happy to answer any questions about cruising. We have been on 10 cruises and love them.

I feel old when I see things from the 90's and they look dated. But on the plus side I bet it was a blast going around and seeing all the little 90s touches (like the Kathie Lee box).
