How to make Spaghetti Squash in Air Fryer
I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.
Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise. Depending on its size, you may need to remove the ends if they don't fit in your air fryer.
Scoop out and discard seeds. Drizzle with olive oil and salt & pepper.
Place spaghetti squash in the air fryer basket with as much space around them as possible.
Air fry for 12 minutes, check to see if the spaghetti squash has finished cooking. Cook for an additional 3-6 minutes until done.
Remove from the air fryer and scrape the inside with a fork to form the strands. The Spaghetti Squash should be fork-tender to make it easy to scrape the squash.
Preparation and Storage
Make Ahead: We do not preheat the air fryer before making this recipe.
Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container and enjoy them within three to four days.
Freezing/How to Freeze: Transfer cooked spaghetti squash leftovers to an airtight, freezer-safe container and enjoy them within six months.
How to Reheat:
You can use your air fryer to reheat cooked leftovers back to fork-tender deliciousness.
Depending on how you plan to use frozen leftovers, you may not need to thaw them. For example, you can throw frozen spaghetti squash into a stew or sauce on the stovetop or CrockPot since the heat will cook it for you.

Recipe Variations
Substitutions: We enjoy this air-fried spaghetti squash with olive oil, salt, and black pepper, but you can use any cooking oil and seasoning blend you prefer that goes with your meal.
Drizzle some tomato sauce or your favorite pasta sauce over the squash noodles for a great dinner. Sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, fresh parsley, or oregano for extra flavor. a bit of mozzarella cheese is amazing.
Vegetarian + Vegan Option: Air fry spaghetti squash is 100 percent plant-based and a fantastic side dish for vegetarians and vegans!ย
Gluten-Free: This veggie-based recipe is safe for a gluten-free diet.
Smaller Serving Size + Larger Group/More Servings:
The written recipe uses one spaghetti squash to make two spaghetti squash halves for two. Every air fryer cooks differently and has a different capacity, so be prepared to work in batches if you need to make more than two servings.ย
Make It Spicy: Season your spaghetti squash with your favorite spicy seasoning blend to jazz them up and add some flavorful heat.
Sugar-Free: The USDA confirms that one cup of cooked spaghetti squash contains about 4 grams of sugar, so the final sugar content depends on your seasonings. Check each product label if this is a dietary concern.
Tips for the Best Air Fryer Spaghetti Squash
- The first time you make this recipe, watch the spaghetti squash. Cook time varies depending on the size of the squash and how many squash halves you are cooking.
- For the best results, spread your spaghetti squash halves in a single, spaced-out layer. Otherwise, they will not cook evenly.
