How to make Butterfinger Shot
I love how quick and easy the instructions are for this cocktail recipe! I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.
Step 1 - crush Butterfinger bar into small pieces. Pour chocolate syrup in a small bowl with enough space for the shot glass to fit in it.
Step 2 - Roll the shot glass in chocolate syrup until coated along the rim. Gently roll/press the rim into the Butterfinger candy bar pieces until well coated.
Step 3 - Combine Kahlua Coffee Liqueur, Butterscotch Schnapps, and Baileys Irish Cream in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Step 4 - Shake until the mixture is chilled, Carefully strain into shot glass or cocktail glasses.
Preparation and Storage
Make Ahead + Storage: You can prepare this party shot the day before serving. Refrigerate it in an airtight container and garnish the shot glasses with chocolate syrup and Butterfinger pieces as you serve.
Freezing/How to Freeze: Upsize this shot and blend it with ice cream and a handful of ice to make boozy milkshakes, like our Spirit of Kentucky Bourbon Milkshake. Vanilla or chocolate would be fantastic, depending on how chocolatey you want your milkshake.

Recipe Variations
Substitutions:
Any coffee liqueur and Irish cream works if you donโt have Kahlรบa or Baileys. We even have a Homemade Irish Cream recipe if you want to make this ingredient.
Vegetarian Option: This candy-inspired cocktail recipe is vegetarian.
Vegan Option:
Kahlรบa confirms in its FAQs that its products are unsuitable for a vegan diet, so vegans should seek a plant-based coffee liqueur.
Baileys Almande replaces dairy with almond milk, making it a suitable Irish cream replacement for vegans.
Check the ingredient list for your butterscotch schnapps, as its contents may vary across brands.
Gluten-Free:
Kahlรบa does not directly answer whether its products are free of cross-contamination with gluten-containing ingredients, so gluten-free drinkers should select a gluten-free coffee liqueur.
Baileys confirms in its FAQs that it cannot guarantee whether its products are safe for a gluten-free diet, so gluten-free drinkers should look for a gluten-free Irish cream to use.
Look for a gluten-free label on your butterscotch schnapps to avoid cross-contamination and ensure your drink is safe for a gluten-free diet.
Alcohol-Free Option: Replace each of this cocktail shotโs three ingredients with NA alternatives to make it alcohol-free.
Larger Group/More Servings: Double or triple this recipe for more servings or full-sized Butterfinger Cocktails, depending on your desired format. Feel free to play around with the ounces of each ingredient to get a flavor you love.
Sugar-Free: The written recipe contains 15 grams of sugar per serving. Each ingredient contains sugar, so look for sugar-free replacements to make it sugar-free.
