Coke Slushie Recipe
This Coke Slushie is one of my favorite drinks for a warm day. It takes minutes to prepare and tastes so refreshing.
I will admit to keeping Coke ice cubes in the freezer most days just in case I want to make one of these slushies.
You can adapt this recipe to any of your favorite sodas. This slushie recipe would be epic with Orange Soda or other flavored drinks.
It was so hot this summer we were doing everything we could to cool down and enjoy refreshing drinks. I even went on a homemade milkshake spree, making banana, strawberry, and cookies and cream milkshakes.
I even made a Dr. Pepper Float, which we will share soon. I was on a mission with this Coke Slushie and all the other fun new recipes to find ways to cool off and enjoy a delicious drink.
I love that there is no need to use an ice cream maker for this recipe! It is a quick and easy frozen Coke Slushie, and the only tools you need are an ice cube tray and a blender.
If you don't have an ice cube tray, you can use a shallow dish and break up the pieces to prepare them for the blender.
I truly love that you can make your own Coke Slurpee on a hot summer day and relax at home.
Ingredients
Here is a quick overview of the simple ingredients for making an epic Coke Slushie Drink! The printable recipe card at the bottom of the post includes specific measurements and step-by-step instructions.
- Coca-Cola
- Coke Ice Cubesย
Equipment Needed
- Blender: We are big fans of the Ninja Blender. You can use any blender that is strong enough to mix all of the ingredients.
- Soda Fountain-Type Glasses: I love the look of these soda fountain glasses. They just make the milkshake look even more decadent.
- Paper Milkshake Straws: If you are serving this at a party or want to make it look like you are at an ice cream counter, I love these paper milkshake straws.
Preparation and Storage
Make Ahead: For a ready-made version that reduces prep time, you can prepare extra batches of Coke ice cubes so that you only need to blend the ice cubes with soda when you want to enjoy another Coke Slushie.
Storage: For the best results, we recommend making this Coke Slushie as you plan to drink it. If you store it in the fridge/refrigerator the coke ice cubes will melt so make sure you have space in the glass.ย
Freezing/How to Freeze:
We make Coke Ice Cubes by freezing Coca-Cola overnight in an extra ice cube tray. This step keeps your slushie from getting watered down.

Recipe Variations
Substitutions: You can make this recipe with Diet Coke or any Coke-flavored soda, including generic brands.
Cherry Coke - Make adds an epic cherry flavor to the slushie. Garnish with maraschino cherries to designate the cherry flavor.
Vegetarian + Vegan Option: Coca-Cola confirms in its FAQs that it is vegetarian and vegan, making this refreshment an excellent choice for all our plant-based friends!
Gluten-Free: Coca-Cola also confirms in its FAQs that its products are safe for a gluten-free diet.
Alcohol-Free Option: This recipe is alcohol-free, but add a shot or two of Malibu before blending for a Malibu and Coke Slushie.
Add Jack Daniel's Whiskey to turn this into a cocktail.
Make It Spicy: Coca-Cola just released a line of spiced Coke in flavors like โRaspberry Spicedโ if you are curious about a spicy Coke slushie.
Larger Group/More Servings: We used two 12-ounce Coke cans and seven Coke ice cubes to make one Coke Slushie. This recipe doubles and triples easily; adjust the serving amount slider in the recipe card to get the proportions for your desired serving size.
Sugar-Free: The written recipe contains 61 grams of sugar per serving. Make this recipe sugar-free by using sugar-free Coke in your drink and when making the ice cubes.
Tips for the Best Coke Slushie
- You can use additional regular ice cubes if you don't have time to make Coke ice cubes. The drink may have less Coke flavor.ย
