So easy to make and perfect for dinner plus leftovers! Don't worry the tequila alcohol cooks off during the cooking process and you are just left with the smoky flavor along with the sweetness from the margarita mix.
This Crock Pot Tequila Chicken Recipe is going on our menu rotation to be served frequently. It was so great at leftovers in tacos and quesadillas. We even served it on nachos later in the week. Once you have the slow cooker chicken done you can use it in many different menu items which is the perfect time saver!
Heck, you could even pair it with a Freezer Strawberry Margarita for a quick and easy Mexican night at home!
Ingredients
- Olive oil
- Honey
- Margarita mix
- Tequila
- Dried basil
- Cayenne
- Ground cumin
- Boneless chicken breasts
- Lime Wedges
- Flour
- Water
Serve with Spanish Rice

Crock Pot Tequila Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
- ยพ cup margarita mix
- ยผ cup tequila
- 1 Tablespoon Dried Basil
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 4 Chicken Breast
- Lime Wedges
- 1 Tablespoon All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Water
Instructions
- Combine olive oil, honey, margarita mix, tequila, basil, cayenne and cumin together in a small bowl
- Poke holes in the chicken with a fork and place the chicken in the crock pot
- Pour olive oil mixture over the top and cook on low heat for 5-6 hours
- Remove the chicken from the crock pot and place in a 200-degree oven to keep it warm
- Mix flour and water in a small bowl until well combined. Stir flour mixture into the crock pot, turn heat to high and cook uncovered for 10 minutes until liquid thickens. You can add more flour and water if you prefer a thicker sauce
- Remove chicken from the oven and cover with the sauce
- Serve with Spanish Rice
