This easy Eggnog Whipped Cream Recipe is perfect for topping coffee, pancakes, waffles, or your favorite holiday desserts. It takes minutes to prepare and tastes fantastic.
Eggnog Whipped Cream Recipe
This time of year is all about the eggnog recipes! We have been having so much fun finding ways to incorporate eggnog into many different recipes.
I bought eggnog at Costco, and like most things we pick up at Costco, the containers are a lot bigger than I thought they would be. I am still working through the two cartons from Costco, so there may be Eggnog Recipes until February. LOL!
This flavored eggnog whipped topping tastes fantastic on a cup of hot chocolate, added to your favorite ice cream sundae, pumpkin pie, cheesecake, gingerbread loaf, or coffee, or scooped out with a cookie.
It is the perfect sweet topping for so many things! I love treating guests to a "fancy" whipped cream during the holidays.
It is so easy to make, and people are always amazed at how great it tastes and how you put the effort into creating a homemade treat just for them.

How to make Eggnog Whipped Cream
I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.
Place mixing bowl and whisk in the freezer for 10+ minutes, so they get nice and cold.
Add ingredients to the chilled bowl and beat on low speed. Before turning the mixer to medium-high speed, you want everything to mix and fully dissolve.
Keep the electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. You can serve this eggnog-flavored whipped cream in a bowl or pipe it onto your desserts.
Preparation and Storage
Make Ahead:ย
Land OโLakes says you can make homemade whipped cream up to four days beforehand.ย
Storage:ย
Refrigerate this Eggnog Whipped Cream in an airtight container for freshness.
Freezing/How to Freeze:ย
Dairy-based products tend to separate and lose their texture when thawed, so we donโt recommend freezing leftovers.

Recipe Variations
Substitutions:
You can make your Eggnog Whipped Cream with homemade or store-bought eggnog.
To make a chocolate Eggnog Whipped Cream, add 1.5 tablespoons cocoa powder and combine with the whipping cream as it starts to whip together.
I used a piping tip at the end of a gallon-size Ziploc bag to pipe our Eggnog Whipped Cream. I couldn't find a piping bag and didn't want to rearrange the entire pantry.
Vegetarian Option:
This recipe is naturally vegetarian!
Vegan Option:
Vegans should replace the heavy whipping cream and eggnog with plant-based alternatives to make vegan Eggnog Whipped Cream.
Gluten-Free:
The ingredients in this recipe are naturally gluten-free. However, if you are highly sensitive and want to avoid cross-contamination, look for gluten-free labels.
Alcohol-Free Option:
We donโt use alcohol in this homemade whipped cream, but we have Baileys Whipped Cream if you crave a boozy version.
Smaller Serving Size + Larger Group/More Servings:
This recipe adjusts readily to how many servings you need. You can halve, double, or triple it, depending on how much you want.
Sugar-Free:
The written recipe contains 35 grams of sugar per batch. Replace the eggnog and powdered sugar with sugar-free alternatives to make it sugar-free, and check that your heavy whipping cream contains no added sugars.
Tips for the Best Eggnog Whipped Cream
- Increase the amount of powdered sugar for thicker whipped cream.ย
- If you don't have space in your freezer and live in a cold area, put the mixing bowl and whisk in a paper bag and place them on the front porch. It was 20ish degrees here when I made this, and we had packed our freezer with holiday cooking supplies. I ended up sticking the bowl and whisk on the front porch wrapped in a bag for an hour, and they were freezing.
