according to cake mix instructions

Instructions
Prepare white cake mix according to box directions. Once baked allow to cool for 30 minutes
Use a wooden spoon to poke holes in the cake
Combine boiling water and Strawberry Jello Mix until combined.
Pour the Strawberry Jello mix over the cake making sure to get it in the holes.
Refrigerate the cake for 3-4 hours until completely cool and the strawberry jello has settled.
Top with Cool Whip evenly spread over the top and garnish with strawberries.
