Port Wine

Dried Thyme

Instructions
Sprinkle beef short ribs with salt and pepper evenly.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet and brown short ribs for about 10 minutes. Make sure to turn short ribs on each side to get them evenly browned.
Add short ribs to the slow cooker.
Add celery, carrots, onions, and garlic to the skillet and cook over medium heat until browned. This will take 8-10 minutes
Add vegetable mixture to the slow cooker. Pour in Port Wine
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours
Remove the short ribs from the slow cooker.
Strain the cooking liquid into a medium sauce pan. Remove all of the solids.
Bring the cooking liquid to a boil and let it simmer for 6 minutes until it reduces to one half.
Pour the sauce over the short ribs and serve
